Yesterday, we shared the results of the American Kennel Club’s annual survey of the most popular dog breeds in America in 2015. But, with 10 Canadian DogWatch Dealers and thousands of Canadian DogWatch customers, we wondered, how does this list compare to Canada’s top dog breeds?

As it turns out, the top three will look quite familiar. That’s right, the Labrador Retriever is also the most popular dog breed in Canada. The German Shepherd and Golden Retriever took the second and third place spots, respectively, as they do in America. Additionally, the fastest mover on the Canadian list is also a big mover in the U.S. – it seems North Americans just can’t get enough of the lovable French Bulldog (#9)!

Of course, it’s not all the same up north. Canadians love the big, snow-loving Bernese Mountain Dog (#7), but not quite as much as the Havanese (#6), a perky lapdog named after its Caribbean city of origin, Havana, Cuba. Check out the entire top 10 below, and Canadian DogWatch fans, tell us if your favorite dog breed made the list this year!
