Best in show at the 2021 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show goes to…
Congratulations to Wasabi, a Pekingese, who beat out thousands of dogs to win the top prize – Best in Show – at the 145th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show last evening on the grounds of Lyndhurst Estate.
Wasabi, who’s full name is GCHG CH Pequest Wasabi, is a three year-old male who calls Pennsylvania home. His co-owners are Krispy Kreme heiress, Sandra Middlebrooks, Peggy Steinman of Lancaster Steinmans, and the late Iris Love. Wasabi is also the grandson of 2012 Best In Show winner, Malachy!

Wasabi was selected by judge, and Massachusetts local, Judy Harrington, from a field of six other fantastic Group winners, which included:
Hound Group: Bourbon (GCHG CH Pinnacle Kentucky Bourbon) the Whippet, who was the second place finisher and was awarded Reserve Best in Show.
Herding Group: Connor (GCH CH Bugaboo’s Courage Of Conviction) Old English Sheepdog
Sporting Group: Jade (GCHS CH Clarity Reach The Sky Vjk-Myst) German Shorthaired Pointer
Terrier Group: Boy (GCHG CH Crystal Boy De La Pomme) West Highland White Terrier
Non-Sporting Group: Mathew (GCHP CH Chaselands Mathew Moss) French Bulldog
Working Group: Striker (GCHG CH Vanderbilt ‘N Printemp’s Lucky Strike) Samoyed
