It’s another year at the top for America’s favorite lap dog! Today, the American Kennel Club announced that the French Bulldog is the most popular dog breed in the country for the fourth year in a row. These loveable pups earned the top spot on the AKC’s annual survey of the most popular dog breeds in America. The AKC based their list on the number of registrations received in 2025.

Three years ago, the Frenchie pushed the Labrador Retriever to #2 spot, ending that breed’s remarkable 31-year run at #1. The playful Lab repeated in the runner up spot in 2025, while the Dachshund rose to the #5 spot, unseating the perennially popular Poodle (#6) from the top 5.

Here’s the full list of 2025’s top 10 most popular dog breeds, starring some adorable DogWatch Dogs from all across the country!
