Continuing the tradition we started with Ludivine the Marathon Bloodhound, this month’s Dog Tails Dog of the Month goes to the lovable rescue dogs of the Boon Lott’s Elephant Sanctuary Cat and Dog Home in Sukhothai, North Thailand. We first heard about these wonderful dogs and their amazing home thanks to DogWatch Thailand Dealers Doug de Weese and Patsorn “Bee” Sophan, and we were so inspired by their story that we wanted to share it with all of you!

The Top 10 Most Popular Dog Breeds in America in 2015

Yesterday, the American Kennel Club announced the results of their annual survey of the most popular dog breeds in America, and once again, the Labrador Retriever took the top spot. For 25 years in a row, the Lab has been #1 on the list, which is determined by the AKC based on the number of registrations received. In fact, 2015’s top 5 breeds are the same as last year’s list. The 6th place breed, the French Bulldog, is the biggest riser of the bunch, moving up from 9th place in 2014.

Rather than just tell you the rest of the breeds, we thought we’d show you. Here are 2015’s top 10 most popular dog breeds, starring 33 gorgeous DogWatch Dogs from across the country (and a few international ones, too)!

Best in Show at the 2016 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show Goes to…

Best in Show WKC 2016 - Photo from Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show Facebook pageCongratulations to CJ, a German Shorthaired Pointer, who beat over 3,000 dogs to win the top prize – Best in Show – at the 140th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show last evening at Madison Square Garden in New York City. CJ, a three year-old male who’s full name is CGH VJ-Myst Garbonita’s California Journey, is only the third German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) to win Best in Show at Westminster. He is the grandson of Carlee, who took the Best in Show title at Westminster in 2005.
