The Top 10 Most Popular Dog Breeds in America in 2019
This month, the American Kennel Club announced the results of their annual survey of the most popular dog breeds in America, and for the 29th year in a row, the Labrador Retriever took the top spot. The AKC based their list on the number of registrations received in 2019.
Labrador Retrievers are not the only hold-over, though. In fact, this year’s top 5 breeds are the same as last year’s. There is one new arrival on the list – the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, in the 10th spot. This diminutive herding dog cracked the top ten for the very first time!

Best in Show at the 2020 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show Goes to…
Congratulations to Siba, a Standard Poodle, who beat out thousands of dogs to win the top prize – Best in Show – at the 144th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show last evening at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Siba, who’s full name is GCHP CH Stone Run Afternoon Tea, is a three year-old female who hails from Northampton, Pennsylvania. When she’s not winning titles, Siba likes to spend time playing with her handler Chrystal Murray-Clas’ two year-old son and eating her favorite treat, chicken.
